Hahaha look at this guy, he doesn't know what project jabberwocky is!

Oh my god! I used to work for that company! Sadly, as part of my separation agreement, I am Sgt. Schultz. (Or am I simply one of the innocent victims of a neuralyzer?)

Just curious about a hypothesis: is it possible that there are OTAs that won’t successfully install unless the car is connected to a Level 2 charger? We know that when they’re installed through FDRS, the car’s 12V battery has to be connected to an external power source.

Is there a purpose to this thread?

Good god.
To distract us until someone starts the “I got the Remote Frunk Release” thread ?

My 2.4.0 update installed while I was running errands in a remote part of the county with poor cell service and no WiFi or charging.

Considering March is now just 7 days away, I’d say late March is far more likely than early March. Or perhaps April, or May or … ;)
Ford may make Q1 delivery of BlueCruise yet.

Just like they met the 2020 delivery of the Mustang Mach E by getting one to that person in Texas on what? December 29? I’ll bet some lucky person in super-secret above Early Access gets called to their dealership on February 27th to have it installed via FDRS so that they can proudly announce that the first dealer deployments have started ? there will be photographers and balloons and 3-D fractal pony’s and everything!

Don't exaggerate. They delivered three in Texas. The real story is enough.

The way the OTA updates work, they install much faster than the FDRS method. The OTA process most likely won't be running the coolant pumps during the update as well which is the main power draw during FDRS updates.

For instance, we've seen some TCU OTA's that have installed pretty quickly, like around 15-30 minutes for the whole process. But I did a TCU update on my brothers escape over the weekend that took almost 4 hours hooked up to the laptop. That OBD connection is a huge bottleneck.

In Europe this feature is not available yet.
Flashing it does not make me walking on the edge i.m.h.o.
If it wasn't suitable for my car it does not show up in FDRS

And if my GT already came with this feature integrated, then also no harm would be done by reflashing it anyway.

Ford did make FDRS quite foolproof.
Yeah... No

Tell that to those of us who broke the car flashing updates not designed for our job but released on accident for it.

Tread lightly!

He only said foolproof. He didn't go as far as idiot-proof.
As for me, I'm leaving FDRS to others!

Personally Mark, I actually believe they will. It won’t be everyone, but it won’t be a limited rollout to a handful just to say they met the deadline.
