Model 3 sold a lot better for two main reasons: Tesla name cachet & better fast charging. And maybe sedan versus hatchback preference. But it was mostly about the Tesla name and getting a Tesla for $20K less than the Model S.
And yeah, the Bolt was a fine car. But comparing the Bolt to the...
There's a couple of stations near SFO that are easily 50 cents to a dollar more expensive than the Costco just down the street. Or even in the town I live in. Has nothing to do with the more expensive blend California requires. I'm used to that.
Most gas prices in the Bay Area are around $5.60 to $6.30 a gallon. If she paid $7 a gallon, then it was one of the predatory stations near SFO airport that prey on people returning rental vehicles. We just filled up in SSF at Costco for $5.599 a gallon.
In California, if you don't pay the registration fee, and get popped for an expired registration, you have to pay a fine, plus the delinquent registration, plus any late fees. At a certain point, they can tow your car. And then the fees can really start adding up.
I found this on California Attorney General's website:

E-bikes aren't illegal. The way that they are operated on public roads can run afoul of appropriate rules and regulations. But that's not the same as the bikes themselves being illegal.
Ah, sorry for the misinterpretation.
Now, to the OP's obsession with these marauding groups of E-bikes taking over the roadways, I will point out that San Francisco has had something called "Critical Mass" for a long time. This is an event where cyclists will gather once a month and do a...
And if your use of a loud horn causes them to be distracted and crash you can be held liable for the ensuing accident. Btw, fitting of a horn louder than a certain level can subject you to a ticket, too.
I've lived in California all my life, and have been driving for over 40 years, and I have known of this rule since getting my learner's permit. Cyclists share the same rights and responsibilities of motor vehicle drivers. I seem to recall this subject coming up when I've had to take traffic...

I have a 2022 Premium. EPA rates the range at 303 miles. In reality I typically see 270 miles. That's a 10% drop from EPA. I see the same 10% drop in MPG with my ICE vehicles. Winter might push that range drop to 25%. And yes, that's at highway speeds of 70+ on a regular basis.
If it was winter, and the temperatures were below freezing, I would agree. But air-conditioning usage is a quarter or less of the draw that the heater sees. That includes any cooling capacity being used to keep the battery happy. I can't see a drop of more than 15% in those conditions unless...
